Plumbing, electrical and handyman

Technicians are under sinks and up ladders when customers call, and a burst pipe at 10 pm will not wait for a callback. The assistant answers at any hour, asks the safety questions first, flags leaks and power trips as urgent, and notes the job, area and preferred window for your team.

What it handles

  • Repair requests for leaks, taps, chokes, water heaters, lights, sockets, mounting and assembly
  • Leaks and power trips at any hour, flagged for your team
  • Opening hours, areas covered, the visit fee and the prices you have approved
  • The job, area, address, preferred window and mobile number, noted for the team to confirm

When it hands over to a person

  • Sparks, a burning smell, exposed wires, water near electrics or a gas smell (safety first)
  • A complaint, a refund request or a caller who asks for a manager
  • Quotes for large jobs such as rewiring, re-piping or bathroom works

What it never does

  • Gives repair advice, or safety steps beyond switching off at the main switch, leaving and calling 995
  • Promises an arrival time or a final price before the technician has seen the job
  • Asks for NRIC numbers or card details by voice

Questions it answers

From your own FAQ, nothing made up

What are your opening hours?

We do regular visits Monday to Saturday, 8 am to 6 pm. For leaks and power trips we're on call 24 hours a day, every day. Visits after 6 pm, on Sundays and on public holidays carry an after-hours charge of S$50.

How much does a visit cost?

A visit starts from S$80, which includes travel and the first hour of work. Extra time is S$30 per half hour, and parts are extra. Prices include GST, and the technician confirms the final price on site before starting.

Can I book a visit?

Of course. I can note a visit request for the team. What needs fixing, and which area are you in?

Where are you located?

We're based in Kallang, and our technicians travel to every area of Singapore, to HDB flats, condos, landed homes, shops and small offices. There's no shop to visit.

What payment methods do you accept?

PayNow, NETS, major credit cards and cash, paid to the technician when the job is done. There's no deposit for standard jobs, and we never take card numbers over the phone.

Can you give me a discount?

I'm sorry, I don't have a discount to offer. Several small jobs in one visit share the same visit fee, and a team member can tell you about any current offers.

Is that the final price?

The prices I give are starting prices and include GST, and parts are extra. The technician checks the problem and tells you the final price before starting, and nothing begins until you agree.

Can I cancel or change my visit?

Yes. Please tell us at least 3 hours before the arrival window and there's no charge, and the team will find another time with you. With less notice, a S$40 fee applies.

What if I'm late or not home for the visit?

Please call us if you're running late. The technician waits up to 15 minutes, and after that the team will find another time with you. A S$40 fee applies if no one is home.

Do you give a refund or a guarantee?

We give a 30-day warranty on our workmanship. If the same fault comes back, tell us and we'll return at no labour charge. Parts follow the maker's warranty, and a team member looks at any refund request.

I'm unhappy with the repair

I'm so sorry to hear that. A team member will look into it with you, and the 30-day warranty covers the same fault coming back. Shall I take your name and number for a call back?

Can I speak to a team member?

Of course. I can ask a team member to call you back. May I take your name and mobile number?

Do you record my calls?

This call may be recorded, as I said at the start. Recordings are only used to follow up your request, and you can ask us to delete them. Your name, address and number are kept only for the job.

Do you speak Mandarin?

Yes, our technicians and office team speak English and Mandarin. On this demonstration line I can only help in English.

What should I prepare before the technician comes?

Please clear the space around the problem, and be ready to show the technician the DB box or water valve. Tell us if your condo's management office needs the technician's details. An adult needs to be home.

How long does a visit take?

Most small jobs take 30 to 60 minutes. Unchoking takes up to an hour, and fitting a water heater about 2 hours. For bigger jobs, the technician tells you the time needed once they see it.

Is it okay if my elderly parents or young children are home?

Yes. Any adult at home, including a domestic helper, can let the technician in and check the work afterwards. Please keep young children and pets away from tools and open sockets, and tell us if someone is resting so the technician can work quietly.

Do you work on weekends and public holidays?

Saturday is a normal working day. We take visits on Sundays and public holidays when a technician is free, with the S$50 after-hours charge. On the first two days of Chinese New Year we only take leaks and power trips.

Can I get a receipt or an invoice?

Yes, you get a receipt after payment. If your company needs a GST invoice, tell the technician or the team and we'll issue one.

What kinds of repairs do you do?

We fix leaking pipes and taps, toilet flushes, choked sinks and toilets, water heaters, lights, sockets and tripping power. We also mount TVs and shelves and assemble furniture. We don't do gas work, aircon servicing or renovation.

Do you handle emergencies at night?

Yes, for leaks and power trips we're on call 24 hours a day, every day, with an after-hours charge of S$50 at night. I can't promise an arrival time, but I can flag your request as urgent for the team.

I see sparks or smell burning

For sparks, a burning smell, exposed wires or water near a socket, plug or DB box, please switch off at the main switch if it is safe, or leave the area. If there is fire or smoke, or someone is hurt or shocked, call 995 now. In the live version I'd connect you with a team member now.

I can smell gas

Please leave the area now, touch no switches or flames, and call 995. A gas smell is an emergency, and we don't do gas work. In the live version I'd connect you with a team member right away.

My pipe is leaking

I'm sorry to hear that. Is any water reaching a socket, a light or the DB box? If not, tell me your area and I'll note it as an urgent request for the team. A pipe repair starts from S$150, and the plumber confirms the final price.

My sink or toilet is choked

I'm sorry about that. Unchoking a sink, basin or floor trap starts from S$100 and a toilet bowl from S$130, and the plumber confirms the final price. Shall I note a visit for the team?

My tap is dripping

A dripping tap is usually a quick job. It starts from S$80, which is the visit fee, plus any new washer or tap. The technician confirms the price before starting.

How much to change a light or a socket?

Replacing a light fitting, a switch or a power socket starts from S$80 for the first one, which is the visit fee. Each extra one in the same visit is S$25, and parts are extra. A licensed electrical worker does fixed wiring and confirms the final price.

Do you mount TVs and assemble furniture?

Yes, we mount TVs, shelves and curtain rods, and assemble wardrobes, beds and flat-pack furniture. It is charged by time, from S$80 for the first hour, and brackets and fittings are extra. The technician confirms the final price on site.

How is extra time charged?

For jobs charged by time, the first hour is in the S$80 visit fee. After that it is S$30 for each extra half hour, and the technician tells you before going over the hour.

Can I buy my own tap or heater for you to fit?

Yes, we can fit parts you've bought, and we also supply common ones. The technician shows you the price of any part before fitting it. Our 30-day warranty covers our work, while parts follow the maker's warranty.

Are your electricians and plumbers licensed?

Yes. Fixed electrical wiring is done by a licensed electrical worker, and regulated plumbing work by a licensed plumber, who both hold the licences the rules require.

Why is it so expensive?

Prices cover a trained technician, travel across Singapore, a quote before work and a 30-day warranty. The technician confirms the price on site before starting, so you can say no.

Can you match another quote?

I can only speak for QuickFix Handyman, and I can't change our prices. Our price includes a licensed worker where needed, a quote before work and a 30-day warranty. A team member can look at your quote with you.

I'm nervous about letting a stranger in

That's understandable. We message you the technician's name before the visit, and they carry an ID card, so you can check at the door. A family member is welcome to stay with you.

How soon can someone come?

For leaks and power trips we send someone as soon as we can, at any hour. Other jobs are often done within 2 days, depending on what is free. I can't promise an exact time, and the team confirms the arrival window with you.

Can I get a quote in writing?

Yes. For bigger jobs a team member sends a written quote by WhatsApp or email after a site visit, to you or to your landlord. The S$80 visit fee comes off the job if you go ahead.
